The Pop Shop is a wonderful restaurant in the center of Collingswood, NJ. Like a soda shop from the 1950s and a great place for a party. But this isn't a commercial, even though we all had a great time there on Fathers' Day.
We were at the Pop Shop early, and when we came out, the line on Father's Day was rather long. Good crowd. This is an early interior shot.
My grandson Ross and I really want to see this alley in the evening with these lights on.
It's hard to say what caught me first. The tiled walls, the old metal furniture placed around, or the bright sky blue of the trim. Maybe even the slightly overgrown greenery. There was the whole scene, and the individual scenes that made it up.
And for me, there was just enough weathering and "alligator" paint to give it character. I love the weathered and worn that shows how something has served its purpose faithfully over time.
The sun was in and out that morning, and the courtyard itself made lighting tricky. Since I prefer ambient light, there were some shots just out of good range. But not all.
That mirror just inside the door tied the courtyard together for me, and I didn't even notice myself in it at first.
And yes, the tilework design is an excellent frame.
See you all later. Slainte
